Can my spouse or significant other go with me?
No. The only spouses or significant others who are permitted to go along are those who qualify based upon eligibility requirements as a fellow veteran.

Can my son, daughter, grandchild, etc. go as a guardian escort?
Possibly. We maximize the number of veterans on each mission so there are limited spots for guardians. We are not discouraging family members from applying but know that we cannot guarantee their participation. If you are selected to travel with your veteran family member the current cost is $500, you must attend our Guardian Training Session and you will be required to assist with other veterans on that flight as well. You must apply at or around the time your Veteran does to be considered. To apply please click on the Apply Now tab and select Guardian Application.

How do you decide which veterans get to go?
Veterans are flown on a "first-come, first-serve basis." We are currently accepting applications from all eligible veterans who were active duty who served anytime prior to May 7, 1975. Top priority is currently given to World War II and Korean War veterans and other war time veterans with a terminal illness. Applications are arranged based upon the time stamp received in our system. As soon as it's your turn to go, we will call you approximately 6 weeks prior to the flight.

How much does it cost? How much money do I need to bring?
The cost is FREE for eligible veterans. It's our way to say "Thank You" for your service. You do not need to bring any money, unless you intend to purchase souvenirs.

Can I make a donation to Old Glory Honor Flight?
Yes please! Old Glory Honor Flight gratefully accepts donations from our generous community! We are privately funded through individuals, businesses, civic groups and foundations to keep our veterans flying. It is a great way for our community to show their support and gratitude to all of our deserving local heroes.

What if the veteran is in a wheelchair or on oxygen?
WHEELCHAIRS -- Old Glory Honor Flight provides a wheelchair for our veterans to use during the day if they need it. We provide trained guardian escorts to push the wheelchairs so the veterans can enjoy their day. Our coach buses are equipped with wheelchair lifts if needed.

OXYGEN -- If the veteran requires oxygen, a prescription for the oxygen must be provided by the veteran's healthcare provider, identifying the delivery method (mask or nasal cannula), frequency (as needed or continuously), and the rate of delivery (usually 2-3 liters per minute). The veteran's family must secure a FAA-approved oxygen concentrator for use on the plane. Your normal oxygen supplier will have these for rent. We will provide oxygen cylinders to be used in Washingotn, D.C.  Veterans on oxygen are required to have oxygen cylinders available from their home to the departure airport and also on the return from their local airport back to their home. No oxygen cylinders are permitted to be used on the aircraft. If the veteran requires oxygen during the trip, please call us to discuss arrangements.

Are terminally ill veterans given any special priority?
YES! Terminally ill veterans go to the top of the waitlist for the next flight departing to Washington D.C. We ask you provide a note from your physician and give us a call to talk through best course of action with our medical coordinator.

Will you do another trip to Vietnam?
Most likely the answer is 'no' due to current bylawys from the National Honor Flight organization.
